Three teachers say farewell to classroom

THREE teachers, who between them have spent almost a century working at the Snaith School, retired at the end of the summer term.

Staff and students said a fond farewell last week to deputy head Jane Sinclair, art and design department head Roy Kibbler and head of the design and technology department Graham Harrison.

Jane, who will continue working as a supply teacher at the school, has retired after 22 years, Roy has been at Snaith for an impressive 36 years while Graham has racked up an equally impressive 33 years.

Headteacher Jean Pickerill said: "It is really difficult to calculate the effect they have had on the school.

"I would think it would be immeasurable in every case.

"Graham and Roy have led very successful departments and Jane, as deputy head, will have had an impact on the whole school.

"They will be very sadly missed but they are going on to bigger and better things and moving forward with their lives so we wish them well."

Teachers held a farewell tea which was attended by Snaith School staff past and present.

Everyone enjoyed a buffet and cake and the three retirees were presented with the proceeds of a collection.
