A SUCCESSFUL businessman who is expanding into the area is hoping to raise hundreds of pounds for the Selby Hands of Hope charity.

Joint owner of the York Property Shop estate agency, Richard Mustill, says he wants to give something back to the town where he was born and brought up.

Richard is still a local lad, living in Brayton and already supports the Selby Cricket Club with sponsorship through his company, which he runs with business partner Ali Oktay.

While operating from offices just off Coney Street, in York, Richard says the company is ready to turn its attention to the burgeoning Selby property market – and they have pledged to donate £25 from every property sale they complete to SHOH.

“There is a lot of interest in Selby in the property market which really pleases me as I am a Selby lad born and bred. It is a great place to live and I want to put something back into the area.

“I chose SHOH to support after reading all about it each week in the Selby Times and because it is a local charity supporting local people. I think it’s a cracking idea.”

Richard wanted to assure customers that the idea of raising funds from property sales was a genuine one. “We charge 0.75 per cent and No VAT and there are no hidden gimmicks such as charging the client an extra £25 to give to the charity,” he said.

York Property Shop can be contacted on 07501 505454 or at the www.yorkpropertyshop.co.uk website.

Selby Hands of Hope can be contacted via the dedicated hotline on 07548 223066, by emailing wendy@selbyhandsofhope.org.uk or visiting the www.selbyhandsofhope.org,uk website.

q Pubs, clubs and other businesses are being urged to support a London to Paris bike ride challenge by mother and daughter duo, Linda Meagor and Amy Wilton, on April 18, by installing a static exercise bike – with accompanying collection bucket – for employees or members of the public to take a turn on. SHOH chairwoman Wendy Singh said the Wadkin, The Albion, Firth House and DW Sports have already signed up. The contact details above apply.
