Captain will remain for another year
GOOLE Ladies Hockey Club elected Kim Atkinson as club captain for another year at its AGM held last week.
The role of vice captain went to Sam Baillie, as Sue Swales is unavailable for matches, while the posts of secretary and treasurer remained with their current holdersJoe Pepper and Mary Hannan.
Goole will continue to play their home fixtures on the Astroturf pitch at Thorne with training due to take place later in the summer.
The annual club BBQ will take place on Sunday July 13, with more details to come.
Training for the new season has already begun. Players wishing to maintain match fitness and stick skills during the closed season need to attend Goole Cricket Club each Monday at 6pm.
The club also wishes to increase its player base so anyone, experienced or not, who would like to take part next season, should attend the Monday evening session. They are particularly looking for someone to play in goal.
