WEST Cowick powerlifter Tony Stevenson took part in a sponsored event on Easter Monday raising over £1,300.
The 48-year-old of Lodge Lane, who recently took third spot in the British Master Powerlifting Bench Press Championships, showed off his skills to regulars at the Victoria Inn in Thorne.

The Snaith Hall volunteer squatted 225k, or the equivalent to 33 stones, and bench pressed 155k to help raise a total of £1,385 for worthy causes.

Tony chose to donate £200 of the proceeds to The Goddards in West Cowick, with cash also winging its way to the Sheffield Transplant Unit.

The event was also attended by British Under 23 Powerlift champion Danny Boyle.

Tony thanked Cliff Powell of the Victoria Inn for the use of his venue.
