RANGERS failed to reach the Goole and Thorne District FA Cup final after being beaten by Canal Tavern in this hard fought semi-final. Had they won it would have been their third consecutive final in this competition.

The home side took the lead mid-way through the first half after a mix up in the Rangers defence.

The Gers continued to create some good chances to equalise, but failed to convert.

In the second period, the home side scored their second against the run of play, as the visitors were putting on most of the pressure.

In the dying seconds of the game the home side scored their third goal. Rangers could have earned more from this game had they put away some of their scoring opportunities.

This week Rangers play their last game of the season, away to Vikings at West Park, 10.30am kick off.
