KEEN sports enthusiasts who have a disability are being urged to take part in the Rotary District Disability Games in April.
Swinefleet residents Cliff Woolass and his wife Wendy will be competing in the competition once again, but are hoping more local residents will join them.
Last year a total of nine people and two helpers from the town took part and won two trophie
s and finished second twice.
Cliff told the Courier: "We would like to take more than we did last year and have someone compete in a wheelchair event, which we have not had for many years.
"They will get to meet a lot of people with similar disabilities taking part in different events and everyone is happy.
"It is a nice atmosphere even though it is competitive and people can bring their helpers."
This year's games are taking place at Cleethorpes Leisure Centre on April 20 and both men and women can compete with a junior section also available for anyone under 19.
A total of 11 events will be held from snooker, swimming, rifle shooting, darts, weightlifting and a wheelchair slalom.
Registration for the competition takes place on the day between 8.30-9am, so the mini-bus from The Courtyard, Goole taking competitors will be leaving at 7.15am.
Anyone seeking further information should contact Cliff on 07980582764 or visit him at The Courtyard.
