Carlton Towers 129-8
ON A lovely bright sunny day it was up to the Carlton skipper to choose what to do on a very worn looking track at Tadcaster. After choosing to field and seeing a wicket in the opening over and then Mark Spetch swing the ball
over it looked like a good decision.
However two aggressive knocks by Cattle and Daniels looked like Tadcaster should total up somewhere in the region of 250. Then young spinner Sean Morris showed all his promise by taking 3-53 to peg back the brewery men to a healthy finish of 212.
In reply Carlton again lost early wickets when batsmen had just looked at getting themselves in. It was up to the dependable Darren Graves to hold the innings together scoring 40 and take the heat off the younger players. Captain Jamie Pocklington came in and tried to push the run rate on but was out for 25.
Again another disappointing batting display which is not helping the youngsters, however on a positive note it was pleasing to see Mark Spetch and Callum Rielley bowl with both pace and accuracy and Sean Morris show people how to turn a ball.
