Thorne will face Scotter in pre-season opener

THORNE Colliery kick off their pre-season campaign on Tuesday against Scunthorpe League side Scotter Utd.
And they face former manager Mark Turner in a game at Brodsworth MW later in the month.

Thorne Colliery's opening league fixtures have been released.

They face four of the league's new clubs in the first seven games, including a trip to the coa
st to face Mablethorpe Athletic.

All games have a 3pm kick-off and, where possible, the club is looking for coach travel for away games.

Pre-season training will continue on Tuesdays (Welfare Ground), Thursdays (Trinity Academy), and on Saturdays (Welfare Ground).

The pre-season fixtures are: Tuesday, July 8 - Thorne Colliery v Scotter Utd, kick-off 6.30pm; Saturday, July 12 - Thorne Colliery v Gosforth Bohemians (Newcastle), kick-off 3pm; Saturday, July 26 - Nell Gwyn (Derby) v Thorne Colliery, kick-off 3pm away; Tuesday, July 29 - Brodsworth v Thorne Colliery - TBC*; Saturday, August 9 - Thorne Colliery v Thorne Town - TBC*. *Game to be confirmed.

League fixtures for August and September are:

Saturday, August 16 - Church Warsop v Thorne Colliery; Saturday, August 23 - Thorne Colliery v Kirkby Town; Saturday, August 30 - Bulwell Town v Thorne Colliery; Saturday, September 6 - Thorne Colliery v Bolsover Town; Saturday, September 13 - Mablethorpe Athletic v Thorne Colliery; Saturday, September 20 - Thorne Colliery v Parkhouse; Saturday, September 27 - Bentley Colliery v Thorne Colliery.
