GOOLE Town Tigers JFC has recently been recognised as a FA Charter Standard Club.
The squad was presented with this benchmark for quality at a ceremony at West Park on Tuesday night, which was attended by all 135 young members.
Spokesman Lee Clarkson told the Courier: "A great deal of work has gone into this including policies, procedures and coach development.
"Coaches are FA qualified, trained in emergency aid and enhanced CRB checked. Tigers currently have teams in both the Selby and Hull leagues at ages from six through to 15."
The FA Charter Standard Club Programme was established in February 2001 to provide recognition that clubs are well run, sustainable, with child protection and safety paramount. It also recognises the club's commitment to coaching, player and coach development and the raising of standards of behaviour in the game.
The Charter Standard Scheme is a best practice guide that sets standards of coaching, administration and child protection for all clubs outside the Football League and Premier League.
As a benchmark for quality, it will improve the playing experience for all.
Jo de Tute, Football Development Officer at the West Riding County FA this week congratulated Goole Town Tigers for attaining Charter Standard, joining over 200 other clubs within the county that have the award.
She said: "The club has got to the first level of the FA standard which means they have had to have in place things such as CRBs for all coaches, managers and secretaries, as well as practices and procedures in place, and codes of conduct so they're working in a child friendly environment.
"I've worked with the club over the last couple of months so everything is in place.
"All the feedback we've had about the club is very positive. The club ethos is for a positive and safe environment."
