SNAITH'S Evening League Twenty20 Cricket launched its opening fixtures last Thursday.
Sadly heavy rain the previous Sunday meant only one match went ahead because the rest were unplayable because of standing water.

Eggborough and Thorne Colliery met in a Division Three clash with Thorne winning the toss and electing to bat first.

They achieved 80-1 with J Stewart hitting 54 not out and J Taylor 20 not out.

Eggborough replied with 83-8 with 17-year-old Scott Tyson opening the batting and scoring 48.

A nail biting finish saw the match go to the last over with Eggborough securing the victory and three points.

This year's league sees the return of Carlton Towers and Burn CC to the fold with both members openly welcomed to the thriving evening league.

With the addition of these two teams, the league has reverted to a three division format.

This Thursday's fixtures are:

Division One - Airmyn v Luddington; Askern v Howden CC; Fishlake 1st v Goole Town; Goole Firemen v Drax 1st.

Division Two - Burn v Tate and Lyle; Hensall v Carlton Towers; Hirst Courtney v Sykehouse.

Division Three - Drax 2nd v Eggborough; Pollington v Fishlake 2nd.

The league also now has a website with league tables, and fixture information available to view at www.snaithcricketleague.webs.com.
