Brayton Belles Reserves were undone on their travels to Pool, conceding three in the first half.
A bitterly cold afternoon saw Pool have enjoy the early spells of possession with Belles managing to close them down and stifle a lot of attempts on goal.
The defence and midfield put in some great effort and keeper Jo Goodwin handled well, but the fierce weather conditions proved to be problematic for the Belles kicking into the wind as Pool went into a 3-0 lead.
Brayton did manage to contain the elements at times and when they did, caused the home defence some problems nearly snatching a goal back on a couple of occasions.
The Belles, looking for a quick response in the second half, were further behind as the home side grabbed a fourth after just two minutes.
Brayton responded as their share of possession increased and with 15 minutes gone a clearance from a corner was met by Bev Horsfield who smashed a shot over the keeper’s head from 35 yards to get them back in the game.
Five minutes later, a comeback looked on the cards as a lovely throughball from Rachael Pidge found Jodie Cliff who ran through to beat the keeper from close range.
Despite going close, it was the home side who broke out to score again and seal the match.
Despite the defeat, the club felt it was a good team effort in difficult circumstances with fantastic effort from Melissa Till and Rosie Marshall in particular.
Player of the Week was shared between Bev Horsfield and Emma Tune.
