Brayton hang on to lead after Cliff brace
Brayton Belles badge.
BELLES marksman Jodie Cliff was on target twice more for the reserves.
Brayton enjoyed a slice of luck to take the lead at Middleton when Cliff’s low corner from the left evaded everyone and nestled into the net.
The home side equalised with a well-taken free-kick, however the Belles fought back when Bev Horsfield ran through to score giving the visitors a 2-1 lead at half time.
The restart saw a fitter Belles side start to dominate in terms of territory and possession and some lovely passing found Kelly Thornton who played in Cliff for the forward to calmly slot the ball past the home keeper.
The scoring was completed when Kelly Walker picked up a loose ball after a corner and fired home.
Player of the week was given to Jodie Cliff for a ‘fantastic all-round performance’.
