Goole Tigers taste more victory

THE winning streak of Goole Town Tigers’ under-12s side continued as they claimed another scalp at West Park.

Despite a slow start, the Tigers soon began to put pressure on visitors Gilberdyke and connected with a number of shots, however their opponents kept out the danger.

The first goal came after 20 minutes from a Mitchell Parkinson strike.

Goole doubled their lead two minutes later when the ball was drilled across the box for Taylor Richardson to rifle into the net, with the effort taking a slight deflection on its way.

The final goal of the half came from Brandon Worth when he took advantage of a scramble in the penalty box to strike from five yards.

With a three-goal lead, Goole played the second half with confidence as Ryan Noon ran the show from the middle of the park and the Tigers used their pacy wingers to their advantage.

Following a couple of half-chances, Goole netted their fourth of the game and Richardson’s second through a rasping volley after a pinpoint pass from Parkinson.

The final two goals came in the last 10 minutes with Parkinson grabbing his second and Callum Leak adding his name to the scoresheet with a cross from the left wing which sailed into the net from 20 yards.

The Tigers’ next games include a trips to Barlby Raiders on February 16 and Armthorpe on February 17 in the Goole and Thorne cup.
