Goole Wado Ryu gradings

GOOLE-based Rising Sun School of Wado Ryu Students had a big night with gradings.

White Belt gradings were run by Sensei Amy (first Dan) who was impressed with James Todd and Marie Pawson.

They graded from white to tag and because they exceeded in what was expected of them, Sensei Amy put them through a second syllabus which took them through to yellow belt.

Sensei Phil (first Dan) graded the green belts who were going for their blue belts.

Kelly Hanlon and Christopher Wilson were pushed to their limit and beyond with having to show knowledge of basic techniques as well as free flowing stick defences and passed their grading.

The gradings were watched and overseen by the club's founder Sensei Darrel (3rd Dan) who agreed with his black belt's decision of first class passes all round.

Sensei Darrel commented: "The passion, devotion and dedication of these four students was clear.

"All students do me proud every week but the gradings were just mind blowing.

"Every student gives 100 per cent but this time they seemed to dig deeper and gave 110 per cent. It was fantastic to see."
