Goole’s Thompson on top form

Goole Town Tigers U10s v Garforth

Game 1

On Saturday morning Goole travelled to Garforth on what was to be a rehersal for their semi cup clash in a few weeks time.Goole started brightly and created three or four good chances before they finally took the lead, through a short corner ball from Keane Bonser to Evan Blythe whos cross found Tom Grant, who then turned and shot and found the corner of the net to make it one nill.which was to be the half time score. In the second half Goole continued to drive with Jake Smith as solid as ever in the middle.Callum Hoare and Evan Blythe did there job well at back in defense and kept the ball away. This giving Keane Bonser and Tom Grant the license to drill forward at will on what was a very heavy pitch and really boggy to play on.Garforth did create a chance of their own, however Declan Eastwood made a fantastic double save to keep it one nil. With 10 mins left Jake Smith found the hard working Harry Noon with a through ball and with a well placed shot Harry Noon made it two nill.

Goole then replaced Callum Hoare and Keane Bonser with Jordan Atkins and Ryan Thompson who both worked hard to help the Tigers get a well earned three points

Man of the match was shared with Keane Bonser and Jake Smith.

Game 2 Garforth 0 Goole 7

The second game saw Goole on the attack from the start and with 5 mins found themselves two nil up,the first was a fine finish from Ryan Thompson. The second a long range shot from Nathan Earl.Goole continued to play some fine football. A ball from Jordan Atkins found Nathan Earl who slotted his second and Gooles third home. From the kick off a a rare Garforth attack cleared by Luke Mcgowan, whos clearance found Ryan Thompson on his own and with good control slid the ball passed the keeper to make it four nil at half time. The first half also saw a injury to Reece Wilkinson who had to come off and be taken to casualty for a injury to his foot,we hope he makes a speedy recovery and it will not keep him out too long. The second half was much the same with Goole on all out attack ,Nathan Earl found the hard working Declan Eastwood in front of goal who made no mistake and made it five nill. It was Declan Eastwood who scored his second of the day with a solid run and a fine finish to make it six nil With a few minutes left a cross from Nathan Earl found Keane Bonser with an open goal to tap in and make it seven nill and an all round good day to Goole. Man of the match Ryan Thompson.
