Knights fall in crucial game
Doncaster Knights were left five points adrift at the bottom of the table after a narrow loss against fellow Championship strugglers London Scottish at Castle Park last week.
The Knights made a dream start to the clash, as Dougie Flockhart kicked his side into a three point lead from an early penalty with barely a minute on the clock.
The game then became a battle of the kickers in the first half, as Flockhart and Scottish winger James Love exchanged penalties for a 6-6 half-time scoreline.
After Flockhart had put the Knights ahead again, Will Hafu and Brian McGovern entered the fray and the former made an immediate impact.
Love was on hand once again to drag Scottish level, and finally Miles Mantella broke the status quo and scored a try to put the visitors ahead.
Love missed the resulting penalty, but Scottish held on and secured a 14-9 win.
