Top-rated Yorkshire-based runner Darren Bilton was the first winner of the new Selby Striders Wistow 10K on Sunday with a time of 33 minutes 23 seconds.

The Leeds City AC member was the record holder of the old Selby Half Marathon and has also been the first veteran to cross the line in the London Marathon.

Meanwhile Amy Green of Keighley & Craven AC set a very respectable time for the ladies of 37:54 to take first prize in the women’s competition, ahead of former Selby Striders member Lisa Guscott-Trout, now an unattached runner, who clocked 39:11, and Beth Massey of Ilkley Harriers who finished in 40:15.
