Loan acquired
Selby Town FC have managed to acquire a short-term loan from the West Riding County FA to get their vandalised boiler-house repaired.
The estimated cost is £6,000 and the need is urgent as, without shower facilities, the Robins are not able to host league matches. The loan will have to be paid back after six months.
“Grants are not available unless you go through a process which could take up to a couple of months to complete before any work can be commenced,” explained club secretary Tommy Arkley.
And the need for training at Doncaster (referred to on page 61) is not only because of its central position, but also due to lack of facilities in Selby along with a desire to prevent over-use of a pitch vulnerable to flooding.
