Premier Division champions get the better of Tavern

DEFENDING Doncaster Sunday Alliance League Premier Division champions Athletico Tap Maker beat last season’s Championship winners Canal Tavern 2-0 courtesy of goals by Daniel Jarvis and Rob Allan.

Last season’s Championship runners-up Sprotbrough, also tasted a home defeat, going down 6-1 at home to high-flying Tumbler. Richard Smith netted for the home side.

Bentley Top Club beat visiting Hatfield Celtic, for whom Jamie Hindson, Leigh Emmerson and Robert Wilson netted) 6-3.

Corner Pin (Luke Townsend, Richard Yeomans, David Szlamp, Kip Harris) won 4-2 at FC Dunscroft (Sean Gorman, Craig Killgallon).

Eden Grove (Nick Sibanda (2), Danny Robinson) beat Rhino’s (Daniel Wojcichowski, Dean Daffin) by the odd goal in five.

Bullcroft Sports & Pastimes recorded a 4-2 win at Stag Inn.

A brace by Aaron Dunnilll and a single strike by Johnny Wilson helped Toll Bar chalk up a 3-1 Championship win at Brodsworth United (Byron McDermott).

Luke Rafferty weighed in with a hat-trick as Windmill sailed to a 5-3 win at Carpenters Arms. Glynn Powell and Andrew Bembridge also chipped in with goals.

Peter Lindsay and Joe Booth shared out the goals as Finningley Athletic beat Stainforth by the odd goal in three.

Wheatsheaf, for whom Ryan Bamborough and Ross White netted, lost 5-2 at Hawthorn.

Sportsman Inter Stella were 4-2 winners at Park Social.

Matt Holmes scored all five goals as Wheatley Hotel beat visiting Edlington Top Club 5-3.

Askern Railway took the spoils in their Division One clash at Armthorpe Albion, running out 6-3 winners.

Tom Bentley, Owen Barker, Thomas Clamp, Daniel Butler and Ross Ascough were the Railway marksmen.
