Sidecar ace Dipash Chauhan and his Nick Crowe Racing team have stepped in to rescue driver Tony Brown who had his bike damaged and his passenger injured in the final race of the Bemsee 2012 Championship.
Top-rated Gowdall-based Dipash (pictured in action), who has partnered some of the world’s best drivers, will now be teaming up for the first time with the highly experienced Brown, from Sittingbourne in Kent, for the Mallory Park Festival on October 28.
The Formula 2 NCR team, also backed by Dave Hudspeth Carpets and Q8 Oils, will give Brown a chance to test his skills on a much faster and more modern outfit, and he is looking forward to finishing the season off in style.
Tony and his regular passenger, Ryan Anderson, had an ‘upside-down moment’ in their last race with Ryan injured, but OK.
TT legend Nick Crowe stepped in to help, saying: “It’s about time that lad had a go on a proper bike. It would be nice to give someone who hasn’t had a lot of help a little backing to see what they can produce.”
And the partnership will be entered in all the 600cc F2 classes at the festival.
Nick and Dave’s team had great success at the last two sidecar festivals, winning all the races in their class and both A finals with former riders Tim Reeves and Simon Neary, both partnered by Dipash, who said: “Thanks to Tony for stepping up and having a go, and for Ryan’s understanding and support. It’s great to be involved with my old team again and I’m looking forward it.”
The team are looking for a tyre sponsor to take up some logo space left on the bike for the festival. Contact dips@teamdavehudspethcarpets.co.uk
