Snaith snatch victory against spirited Thorpe

Snaith Tornados overcame rivals Thorpe United in their under-nines encounter which ended 2-0.

Travelling to Thorpe’s home ground, Snaith were denied in the opening exchanges when Elliott Midson’s effort saved by the host’s keeper.

Tornados keeper Matthew Francis, and the club’s man of the match, was then called into action to prevent Thorpe from taking the lead in an evenly-contested match.

Snaith’s determination saw them go into the half in the lead following a Riley Parrott strike for the Tornados.

Thorpe began the second half with Snaith in confident mood, looking to double their lead.

Their pressure paid off as Elliott Parris used his pace to break free and deliver a perfectly-weighted ball into the Thorpe penalty area for Midson to finish the game off.
