And this was not just down to Thorpe Willoughby’s thrilling finale, which saw them pull off a one-wicket win with a ball to spare over York RI.

Fielding two teams in the HPH York Vale League, they have become inaugural winners of the Club of the Year award, sponsored by Scothern Construction. And proud club secretary Dennis Powell is pictured receiving the honour from Ian Scothern during the league’s annual dinner held at the Royal York Hotel on Saturday night.
