Tom rubs Salt into Rossington wounds

ROSSINGTON Main became the latest Doncaster Senior League Premier Division outft to fail to stop Bramley Sunnyside’s free-scoring Tom Salt.

Salt took his tally for the season to 29 with a four-goal blast as Sunnyside pipped Main 8-5 in a high-scoring encounter.

Matthew Brunyee and Ian Donnelly also chipped in with goals for the league leaders while Main responded with a hat-trick from Rhys Brailey, and a goal each by Marcel Chippamunga and David McGee.

Shafton Villa kept the pressure on the leaders with an 8-2 triumph at neighbours Hemsworth Town.

Having found the net only once in his previous three games, Steve Ellor produced a six-goal return for Denaby United as they beat Bawtry Town 10-2.

Neil Spruce (2), Matthew Barnes and Enzo Guarini completed the rout with Ben Gillatt twice reducing the arrears.

Hemsworth MW beat Rovers Foundation 2-0 courtesy of a John Whitehead brace to hold on to top spot on Division One.

Second-place Denaby Main recorded a 4-0 victory at Swinton Athletic. Scott Aspinall bagged a brace for the winners with Joe Dungworth and Joshua Armstrong also netting. Newton Arms pipped Dunscroft United by the odd goal in five. Joe Gaskell, John Macleod and Lee Hesketh being their marksmen.

Craig Miller scoed both United consolation goals. Krystian Jonowiak, Slawomir Ostrowski and Tomasz Sowinski scored the ISG Doncaster consolation goals in their 6-3 defeat at home to Harworth.

FC Central romped to a 9-0 win over Westwoodside Rangers.
