Women’s Football: Pride at stake for lowly Doncaster Belles who face Liverpool Ladies

DONCASTER Rovers Belles need only avoid defeat in tomorrow’s final FA Women’s Premier League (WSL) game to miss out on the ‘wooden spoon.’

Belles head to Merseyside to face Liverpool Ladies, three points clear of the Reds with a two-goal advantage, buoyed by their battling display in a 3-2 defeat at newly-crowned champions Arsenal Ladies last Sunday.

“There is no relegation this season, but, as a matter of pride we don’t want to finish bottom of the table,” said Belles boss John Buckley. “We played well at Arsenal so that should give us confidence going to Liverpool.”
